The Game Begins...Tag, You’re It!

Welcome to the world of WyoLEARN–the Wyoming League for Educational Accountability and Reform Network. This game of Tag is a collaborative effort of leaders and thinkers from around the State. The game is simple. It begins with a question:

What single reform would make the most significant positive change towards ensuring that every individual Wyoming student receives the best possible education?

You participate by invitation. You get tagged to contribute an essay explaining your answer to the question from the last person who was tagged, who provides you with the user ID and the password to compose your post on the Weblog.  Whenever a new post has arrived, we’ll send a notice to everyone on our email list, and everyone will be invited to make comments.  We’ll ask each person who has been tagged to note who they have tagged. You’ll have at least a week to respond once you’ve been tagged. If you’re not up to it, or just need more time…we’ll ask you to go ahead and tag somebody else. You’ll always be welcome to post whenever you have something to contribute, once you’ve been tagged the first time. Your response can be as short, or as long as you like, structured however makes good sense to you.

After awhile we may get tired of the question. As we move along, try to think of what the next question should be. After all, half of the equation to revolutionary change–a very drastic change in a short amount of time–is knowing which questions to ask. A revolution in education is what many of us believe needs to happen in order to get our Wyoming students off of the flat-line, absolutely level, perfectly mediocre national average student achievement. A revolution of excellence and inclusion. Every child matters.

We think this will be fun, and we hope it will be thought provoking. As the Legislative Session approaches it will be good to ferret out the common themes, the solidly supported, the possible–and maybe some bold innovations worth fighting for.

And the first Tag taps Sue Wallis…
